Soooooo, this is right down the street from where I live, and I love my little beach town, but to get to my house, I have to cross 2 rivers, and tonight one was a bit questionable... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been back in Costa Rica for a few days but tonight was the first time I’d gone to my house.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s winter right now (but still in the 70’s and 80’s) ☀️ and peak rainy season. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wasn’t sure about crossing the river tonight because it was moving a little quickly...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After hyping myself up I made it through just fine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Inspired by my adventure, I decided to work on the part of my Costa Rica Wedding Planning program where I go into detail about every province and town in Costa Rica and how accessible they are!

I'm counting down the days until I see the beach (and my boyfriend) again! It is freezing in Seattle, and my parent’s house is a refrigerator...many thermostat battles have ensued over the past few weeks. 😇

The warm weather ☀️ and the pretty beaches 🏝 are two of my favorite things about Costa Rica! We were in Santa Teresa filming a time lapse of the sunset in this photo.

I’m in Seattle 🇺🇸 right now, but I’ve been busy this week emailing wedding vendors and venues in Costa Rica 🇨🇷!

Have you ever experienced reverse culture shock? ⚡️ It's when you have difficulty readjusting to the culture and values of your home country. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What used to be normal is now strange and unfamiliar. 🤷‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feeling uncomfortable in your own culture is a very unsettling experience.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I'd come to Seattle, it was always the most random, little things that used to bother me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact, I used to count down the days until I could return to Costa Rica. ✈️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now that I've been living in Costa Rica for almost four years and coming home to visit 2x per year, switching between the US and Costa Rica is seamless, and I don't experience any of the stressors that I used to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, all of the new things I discover (new tech or a town that has transformed) when I'm home in the US are exciting!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I came home to Seattle for my BFF's baby shower, but it's been so nice to be home that I decided to extend my stay.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although I'm living in sweaters, I've actually been enjoying the crisp fall 🍂 weather we've been having!

I’m on my way to Seattle! There have been lots of delays because of the weather in Houston and tonight I’m going to have to sleep (maybe I’ll try to work) in the San Francisco airport for 5 hours but I don’t mind too much. I’m just grateful to be going home to see family and friends!
